Getting to the Source of Pain: Diagnosing and Treating the Root Cause
Thursday, Nov. 29, 5:30 – 7 PM

In this class, Amanda Lewis, licensed acupuncturist and Chinese herbal medicine practitioner, will cover the basic methods of successfully diagnosing and treating pain according to Chinese Medicine. She will address 1) determining the cause of pain, 2) establishing the pattern and 3) treating pain according to the pattern.

Amanda will provide an explanation of the various causes of pain, as well as discuss specific treatment methods that include the use of acupuncture, foods, and herbal remedies. This class will also include a special demonstration of acupuncture and related therapies, such as cupping and moxibustion.

At the end of the class, there will be a tour through Greenstar, highlighting some of the foods and supplements mentioned in the class.

Amanda Lewis is nationally board-certified and licensed in acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine. She graduated from Southwest Acupuncture College in Boulder, CO, completed a year of advanced training in China, and has 9 years of clinical experience in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).

She currently sees patients at the PADMA Ctr for Natural Therapies in downtown Ithaca, at 1121 Upper Front St. in Binghamton, and 4 Kirby St. in Bainbridge, NY.
