Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) emphasizes balance as the
key to good health. For example, it’s important to have balance between rest
and activity, a balanced diet, and balance in temperature. Extremes in any
aspect of life can become a cause of disease over time. Balance is relative to the
individual; what is too much for one person may not be enough for another.
To determine a treatment plan in TCM, we look for what are
called “Patterns of Disharmony.” To restore harmony, it’s essential to
understand the primary cause of the imbalance.
In this class, Amanda Lewis, L.Ac, will cover the 3 primary causes
of illness:
1.
Internal Causes (Emotions)
2.
External Causes (Climate factors)
3.
Other Causes (Diet, sleep, trauma, etc)
At the end of the class, Amanda will lead a tour
through Greenstar, highlighting the various foods and supplements mentioned in
the class.
